All Things Great and Small

Instead of cutting down trees to make paper tickets to handout at the gate of events sponsored by The Green Music Network, Anastasio Design devised the use of seed pods as tokens to get through the gate.

Later, after serveral months of drying in the sun the seed pods of the Hakea, a evergreen tree that has small, fragrant white flowers in the spring., willl be set out in the wind where the seeds will go on their way to brighten the springs of others and clean the air.


These Hakea (Hakea Suaveolens) seed pods are shown in different stages of development (l-r) the small green juvenile seed pod,  the larger, mature, speckled seed pod, which grows out of the branch in multiples like a cluster of grapes or Brussels sprouts, and the pod splayed open from summer heat allowing layer upon layer of seed "wings" to catch the wind and disperse like an accordion unfolding.
